Rodale’s Organic Life | Farm2Fork Festival

Festival logo and promotion

Logotype

The festival logo used a stencil font and matching icons to reflect the farm to fork theme, set on a distressed color panel to further emphasize the home-grown nature of the event.

The Farm2Fork Festival logo was designed using a stencil typeface and included 3 icons, the #2, barn and fork, all on a distressed orange rectangle.

Sales Sheet

Developed early in the selling cycle to help bring in sponsors.

Digital and Print Support

To promote the event, Run of Site assets were created for all Rodale websites, as well as social media. Print ads appeared in Rodale’s Organic Life, Men’s Health, Runner’s World and Prevention magazines, as well as on the magazine’s Real Finds promotion page.

After the event a Thank You page was designed featuring event images, the Festival logo and the sponsor logos.

Design Notes

Once the basic format of the logo was settled, it still needed to be rearranged to fit a wide variety of shapes, from 728×90 banners to 100×100 squares. I’m a big believer that there is no one-size-fits-all logo… flexibility is key.

There was also the challenge of creating a perfectly balanced logo lockup that included the magazine logo, the word ”presents“, the event logo, the location ”Williamsburg, Brooklyn“ and the ”sponsored by“ Subaru logo. And then fit that on the banner.

Rodale’s Organic Life

Held in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Farm2Fork Festival celebrated sustainable food and healthy living. It consisted of three distinct experiences over two days. A day-long Farm2Fork fair, including tastings of locally-sourced prepared food, beverages and produce, followed that evening with an all-star chef menu tasting, while the second day featured a special brunch prepared from recipes featured in the magazine.
